In recent times, Chat-GPT by Open AI has created hype all over the world on social media. However, there is a limitation on Chat-GPT data consistency. I’m interested to see if the hype surrounding this product is justified or not. I have seen some people write overexaggerated research-related articles about social robotics and conversational AI. It is important to analyze it critically to determine where the technically lacking is and where the lacking is from a user experience standpoint, I think.
How Chat-GPT responds
Chat-GPT is a more advanced language model that was built on OpenAI’s GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) model. It is designed to improve the accuracy of predictions made by machine learning algorithms. Chat-GPT, like other language models, is intended to generate human-like text based on the input it receives. It has been trained on a big text database and can produce a wide range of responses to varied prompts and questions.
So, I have decided to play with Chat-GPT as a user. I have found Chat-GPT quite impressive, but it also has some major limitations. I have noted all the limitations and issues that I have noticed. Some of the possible issues with the chatbot may be technical in nature. While others may be related to how the chatbot works and how users interact with it. I have noticed a major limitation of Chat-GPT due to the fact that open AI data is not up-to-date.
We asked Chat-GPT how much of his training data was up to date. Chat-GPT says that his training data goes up to September 2021, so if we asked Chat-GPT any question about something that occurred after September 2021, Chat-GPT might not be able to answer the question because Chat-GPT doesn’t have the updated data. So that is a big limitation of Chat-GPT that does not go well for the future of Chat-GPT if they can’t update their chatbot training data.
Chat-GPT by OpenAI can’t access the internet, so it can’t provide real-time information or use location-based information. This substantially limits the application’s functionality and the range of services it may provide. However, if it can crawl the web, it goes beyond what one might expect of a language model. The expectation that Chat-GPT will always be up-to-date is likely to be unrealistic at this time unless OpenAI implements some form of online learning that continually updates the training data.
Limitations of Chat-GPT
Chat-GPT and other language models, however, have some limitations as well. The primary limitation is that they do not have access to the internet or external information, which means they can only respond using the information on which they have been taught. As a result, they may be unable to provide current or accurate information regarding current events or recent developments. Language models may sometimes offer responses that are not entirely clear or make sense in the context of a conversation. Additionally, models may not always provide responses that are useful for understanding the conversation.
To wrap it all up, there is no doubt that Chat-GPT is useful for generating text, but it has a few major limitations that will make it less useful in the future. These limitations include a lack of training data that is not up-to-date, which makes it difficult to create effective chatbots.
